Hi, I’m Tia…

I started A Crafty Alternative in 2012. After years of working in banking, I decided to embrace a more creative way of life teaching people how to make wonderful things for a fraction of the cost of buying them. I’ve got a toddler who never sits still, and I’m always on the hunt for new ideas to keep him from destroying the house. I love foraging and making things from my finds. Besides running the workshops, I also write our blog which is packed full of free craft tutorials and recommendations. (Check it out)
