Hi, I’m Tia…

I started A Crafty Alternative in 2012. I’ve always done crafts as a hobby and loved making my home beautiful out of once-loved things, and stuff found in skips or on Freecyle. After years of working in banking, I decided to embrace a more creative way of life, teaching people how to make wonderful things for a fraction of the cost of buying them. I’ve got a toddler who never sits still, and I’m always on the hunt for new ideas to keep him from destroying the house too.

Besides running the workshops, I also work with brands looking for something different for their clients and press events, and share what I’ve learnt on our blog and through guest blog posts. (Check it out)

AND WHAT ABOUT ME?

Meet Colin. He’s our resident crafty owl. He fancies himself as having superior crafting skills and is quick to offer advice and suggestions… Watch your stuff though, he’s been known to sabotage creations to make his own look better.

Thanks SO much for another lovely evening. My baubles all passed Gerard’s QC and are hanging on the tree. I have to say, I think they look fab! Lucas was very impressed that one had his name on.
